Melania Trump’s birthday hijacked as Donald uses online card to beg for cash

Melania Trump celebrated her 51st birthday on Monday in Palm Beach, Florida, far away from her four years in the White House.

The former first lady thanked “everyone for the wonderful birthday wishes” in a tweet on Tuesday morning, though — in keeping with her preference for privacy — she did not share other details of the celebration.

Over the weekend Republican supporters were sent several emails and texts prompting those who had not yet signed a digital birthday card.

Reminiscent of Donald Trump’s late night tweets and using his fondness for capital letters, an email sent on Sunday read: “We know how much the First Lady means to YOU so we’re going to give you ONE MORE chance to sign her card, but you must ACT FAST!”

The recommended $100 option was automatically selected to remove any doubt of how much was appropriate to give.

The page which feature a snap of Melania, said: “We are working hard to defend the Trump Legacy from Biden and the Radical Left, but we need you to join us! We only need a few more donations today to stay on track will you quickly step up and help close the gap?”

This is not the first time Republican supporters of the former president and first lady have been asked to make donations. A previous report revealed complaints surrounding Trump-backed emails about donations that automatically become recurring payments.
