What to look forward to as the spring/summer 2013 shows begin

Fashion Month begins today with New York fashion Week commencing four weeks of scheduled spring/summer 2013 shows. First up this morning is Organic by John Patrick and 10 Crosby Derek Lam, followed by Rachel Comey and Erin Fetherston this afternoon.

Tomorrow, Richard Chai Love, BCBG Max Azria and Duckie Brown will take to the stage, while Friday will see new offerings from See By Chloe (who will show digitally for the second season), First Lady favourite Jason Wu, Jen Kao, Rag & Bone, Tommy Hilfiger and Helmut Lang.

There is plenty to look forward to this weekend – on Saturday, Prabal Gurung will show his latest collection, as will Alexander Wang and Altuzarra. Victoria Beckham will make sure none of the fashion momentum is lost on Sunday as she prepares to unveil her latest offering, with Diane von Furstenberg and Zac Posen following later that day. Look out for Erin O’Connor on the Zac Posen catwalk, as she makes her big ready-to-wear catwalk return.

Monday’s highlights include new offerings from The Row (the fashion pack love an Olsen twin), as well as Marc Jacobs‘ latest show. On Tuesday, Victoria Beckham‘s contemporary line, Victoria, Victoria Beckham, Vera Wang, Rodarte, Oscar de la Renta and Jenny Packham will doubtlessly provide us with a host of beautiful dresses to wear next season, while Marc by Marc Jacobs will add his signature dose of playfulness at his show that afternoon. NY fashion darling Sophie Theallet, winner of the US International Woolmark Prize, will showcase her latest collection the same evening.

Katie Holmes‘ debut show for her label, Holmes & Yang, will ensure that no one loses their fashion enthusiasm on Wednesday, before Ralph Lauren and Calvin Klein bring the schedule to a close on Thursday – before the action moves to London.
