Oscar de la Renta is leaving 550 Seventh Avenue to relocate to West 42nd Street to stage his future runway shows.
According to reports, In September or October, the designer and his staff will relocate to a 30,000 square-foot space at 11 West 42nd Street for his future shows.
The 79-year-old designer is taking this to make his future shows more personal and intimate and eliminate all those people, who have no real relation to fashion.
“I don’t see any real need to do a mega show and to have 300 extra people there who have no real relation to your business,” de la Renta said. “I don’t want to do a show to be a window for an upcoming star. I want my clothes to be the star.”
The fashion mogul de la Renta first began showing his fashion shows at 583 Park Avenue in June 2007.
