It has been a little over a year since Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson parted ways. The former lovebirds were not just dating but were also engaged. Who could forget Ariana’s humongous diamond ring she sported almost everywhere following their engagement. After their split, Ariana shared her thoughts about the Saturday Night Live star soon after she dropped the “thank u, next,” and revealed Pete’s influence on the song. Now, Pete discussed Ariana in a new interview and said he hopes she’s happy.
The Suicide Squad star appeared on the PAPER magazine’s #BreaktheInternet issue and shared his thoughts on Ariana. He said he normally doesn’t make a public statement about his relationships because he doesn’t think it’s right. But he did share that he wishes Ariana’s “very happy.”
“I don’t ever make public statements about relationships ’cause I just don’t think it’s right, you know? I usually express how I feel about anything through work. So, I hope she’s well. I hope she’s very happy. And that’s pretty much it. And print doesn’t usually age well,” he said.
Although he reserved his words while discussing Ariana, Pete revealed what kind of a person he is when he dating someone. The actor, who is currently dating Kaia Gerber, revealed, “I do all that shit! My love language, when I’m in a relationship, is I treat the person I’m with like a princess. I try and go as above and beyond as possible, because that’s what you’re supposed to do? If you’re in a relationship with someone, you’re just supposed to make that person feel as special as possible. But sometimes when you put so much on someone, it overwhelms them, and then they don’t know if they could come close to that.”
