The insider added “Prince Philip used to tell the queen that he and Penny Romsey were just friends. However, this is notreally the case. Even the queen, allegedly, knew that the Duke of Edinburgh wasn’t being completely honest”.
“Philip’s father was a gambler. He vividly remembers standing next to the card tables as a child and those memories still haunt him. The apple didn’t fall far from the tree. Philip gambled on his marriage,” the source said.
