In a teaser of the movie, Pink is shown saying, “There’s no way a mother can walk away from her babies and not think about them every single second. A lot of moms stop touring because you can’t imagine being able to do both.”
Though it seems the “Beautiful Trauma” singer can do both.
Pink has two kids, Willow, 9, and Jameson, 4, to whom she has taken on tour with her. The All I Know So Far documentary chronicles the singer and her family behind the scenes while on the 2019 Beautiful Trauma World Tour.
Pink shares in the new trailer, “We go all over the world and we’re surrounded by people that are incredibly passionate about what they do. That’s more of an education than I got.”
“I’m always trying to figure out: ‘Am I doing the right thing? Can a woman have it all? What does that even mean?’ And the answer is no, most of the time you can’t, and it feels like you’re climbing Mount Everest,” Pink recently told People Magazine. “But it’s also so magical what I get to do and who I get to be in this life.”
Talking about working mothers in her industry, she added, “There’s not a lot of women headlining stadiums and doing two nights at Wembley Stadium while having a family on the road. [The documentary’s director Michael Gracey] had never seen a mom changing diapers while having a creative meeting, and just the way that this big life intersects with being a normal, crazy family — something is fascinating about that.”
Later, she debated the documentary on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, explaining that she is definite to make a film where she can show managing family and job lives.
“We all create this narrative for ourselves about how tough our childhood was and how awful our parents were. They’ll have that narrative about me, I’m sure, and then they can go back and watch this and realize that they made it all up and that I was fantastic.”
On May 21, All I Know So Far will debut for streaming on Amazon Prime. It is directed by Michael Gracey, who has directed short videos for Pink, as well as the 2017 musical movie The Greatest Showman.
Amazon’s synopsis describes the documentary as: “A behind-the-scenes look at Pink as she balances family and life on the road, leading up to her first Wembley Stadium performance on 2019’s ‘Beautiful Trauma’ world tour.”
