Prince George Reportedly Broke Royal Protocol During Christmas Day Walkabout

Prince George and Princess Charlotte made headlines this week after they attended the royal family’s traditional Christmas Day walkabout.

Prince George and Princess Charlotte made headlines this week after they attended the royal family’s traditional Christmas Day walkabout.  This year marked the first time that the royal siblings attended the event. But Express claimed that Prince William and Kate Middleton’s eldest child may have broken royal protocol with his choice of clothing. Prince George arrived at the venue in his trousers. And royal protocol dictates that young male royals are required to wear shorts up to a certain age.

However, it is also possible that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge decided to dress Prince George in his trousers because it was cold, and he was going to church. Meanwhile, the royal youngsters also made headlines after they were compared by onlookers. One royal fan told Express that Prince George seemed anxious throughout the recent outing.

The same royal fan also denied the claims that Princess Charlotte was also anxious at the gathering simply because she looked serious. “A lot of people said, ‘oh she looks scared’ but no she didn’t. When you’re a mum you know when your child is trying to keep a straight face and trying to be good and she was cheeky,” the fan said.

On Twitter, other netizens shared their thoughts about Prince George and Princess Charlotte’s first walkabout. One of them said that the royal siblings were used to divert the attention of the media from Prince Andrew’s scandal. “Do you think they took George and Charlotte to take the media heat off Andy? Not that I’m cynical or anything but I did say to my OH this morning I’ll bet they take the kids this year,” Twitter user @CCforeverRiggs said.

“Two young children saying hello to well-wishers on Christmas morning attracting hate. What’s wrong with you! They can’t sit about in jammies with presents!” Twitter user @sandyjm12 said. “Who needs Meghan and Harry when we have Charlotte and George. We’re happy with the trade. Thank you,” Twitter user @CheevesJoel said.
