Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s bond with royals not any better; still tense after documentary release

The documentary definitely did spark some tensions among the royal family as Prince Harry got candid about not seeing eye-to-eye with his brother Prince William.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle dropped truth bombs last month when their ITV documentary surfaced. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex who opened up about various aspects of their life, media and fans from all over listened in. However, the documentary definitely did spark some tensions among the royal family as Prince Harry got candid about not seeing eye-to-eye with his brother Prince William. The documentary which was filmed while Harry and Meghan were on their Africa tour was discussed widely. Not just that, the interviewer himself, Tom Bradby, said the couple came across as ‘bruised and vulnerable’.

Despite the many revelations from both Meghan and Harry’s sides, the couple and the royal family’s bond has not grown any closer. In fact, it continues to remain isolated. According to People’ source in this week’s cover story, “There hasn’t been this complete 180. Nothing has changed. They don’t speak, no one is checking in, no one is texting.”

Apart from Harry, Meghan spoke about the intense media pressure in the documentary that she had to face as a new royal and a new mum. She had also revealed that not many people have asked if she’s ‘okay.’  Meghan had said, “Any woman, especially when they’re pregnant, you’re really vulnerable, and so that was made really challenging. So you add (media attention) on top of just trying to be a new mom or trying to be a newlywed … Not many people have asked if I’m okay, but it’s a very real thing to be going through.”

This morning, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s son, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor was christened in the Private Chapel at Windsor Castle at an intimate service officiated by the Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are so happy to share the joy of this day with members of the public who have been incredibly supportive since the birth of their son. They thank you for your kindness in welcoming their first born and celebrating this special moment. Their Royal Highnesses feel fortunate to have enjoyed this day with family and the godparents of Archie. Their son, Archie, was baptised wearing the handmade replica of the royal christening gown which has been worn by royal infants for the last 11 years. The original Royal Christening Robe, made of fine Honiton lace lined with white satin, was commissioned by Queen Victoria in 1841 and first worn by her eldest daughter. It was subsequently worn for generations of Royal christenings, including The Queen, her children and her grandchildren until 2004, when The Queen commissioned this handmade replica, in order for the fragile historic outfit to be preserved, and for the tradition to continue.
