Prince William ‘Emotional to Celebrate’ Father’s Day for this Reason

Prince William is reportedly “emotional” this Father’s Day because he is forced to celebrate it away from his dad, Prince Charles.

Prince William has spent most of the occasions in his life with his father. However, this time, he cannot be with his dad because the latter is at his Balmoral Estate home in Scotland. Thus, the two royal dads cannot spend Father’s Day together.

Royal correspondent Katie Nicholl told OK! magazine that Prince Charles’ contracting the coronavirus back in March is a “wake up call” for the father of three. It made the Duke of Cambridge long to be near his father. Unfortunately, he is in Balmoral and he is in Norfolk.

Prince Charles told Sky News in an interview that he missed his grandchildren. The heir apparent added that he wanted to hug them. The Prince of Wales’ confession reportedly made Kate Middleton’s husband “deeply saddened.”

Nicholl added that Princess Diana not being around to celebrate the event with Prince William would only make the day feel more emotional. The duke reportedly admitted that it was “overwhelming” that his mom is not around to celebrate it with him, New Idea reported.

The future king has always been open about his longing for his mom. He made it sure that his kids would know her even if they they did not have the chance to meet the late Princess of Wales.

“[Wills and Kate] have photos of Diana around the house, very deliberately so, and he speaks about her to his children. He and Kate share stories with them about how Diana helped people and they tell the children how much they would have loved their grandmother,” Nicholl claimed.
