Princess Beatrice, 31, her sister Princess Eugenie, 30, and their mother Sarah Ferguson, 60, are a tight-knit trio. The family usually comes together at Easter but this year will be different as lockdown measures are likely to keep them apart.
While Fergie and Eugenie are believed to spending lockdown together with Prince Andrew, 60, at the Royal Lodge in Great Windsor Park, it is understood Beatrice is based elsewhere with her partner Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, 36.
Beatrice and Edoardo were due to tie the knot on May 29 but have had to delay their big day as social-distancing measures to prevent the spread of coronavirus remain in place.
Princess Beatrice has an apartment at St James’s Palace but she is likely to be spending lockdown with Edoardo at his West London home.
That’s because Edoardo has three-year-old son Christopher “Wolfie” from his previous relationship with architect Dara Huang.
Edo and Dara co-parent Wolfie who will be spending lockdown between their two homes.
For the sake of ease, it is likely Edo and Beatrice will be based at Edo’s as it will already cater to all of Wolfie’s needs.
If Beatrice had chosen to spend lockdown at the Royal Lodge with the rest of family she may have risked not seeing Edoardo again until lockdown was lifted.
In previous years Beatrice, Eugenie and Prince Andrew have all joined the Queen for church on Easter Day.
The Easter Sunday service is held at St George’s Chapel Windsor and is an important Royal Family reunion.
However, with churches closed across the country the family will have to forgo the Easter tradition this year.
Today’s Maundy Thursday service at St George’s was also cancelled and the Queen sent a heartfelt letter to those affected, expressing her disappointment.
The Queen usually marks Maundy Thursday by handing out specially-minted coins to commended pensioners in person.
While the tradition was unable to go ahead this year the selected pensioners received their coins in the post with a kind message from the Queen.
The Queen wrote: It read: “I have great pleasure in sending you the Maundy Gift which, unfortunately, I am unable to distribute to you personally at the Royal Maundy Service in St George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle, on Thursday, 9th April.
“This ancient Christian ceremony, which reflects Jesus’s instruction to his disciples to love one another, is a call to the service of others, something that has been at the centre of my life.
