Queen Elizabeth II has maintained a good relationship with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle after they stepped down from their royal duties. In fact, she continues to keep in touch with the Sussexes after they moved to the United States. But many wanted her to punish them for going against the terms of their Megxit deal, New Idea reported.
Queen Elizabeth to punish Harry and Meghan rumors
The Queen and the Duke and Duchess of Sussex reportedly have a deal before they left the royal family. Her Majesty gave Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to figure out what they want.
However, many accused the Sussexes of using their royal status in securing lucrative deals from streaming giants Netflix and Spotify. Queen Elizabeth II was reportedly not thrilled with the couple’s multi-million deals, New Idea reported.
Royal insiders believed that the Queen will be unrelenting when she reviews the Megxit deal in March. A palace source told Globe that the monarch prized dignity and class and doing good deeds than pursuing wealth.
Prince William’s younger brother has a history of doing “good deeds.” He served in the military and worked on saving endangered animals. However, the Duke of Sussex’s fundraising had allegedly become personal. So, the Queen will likely rip them of their titles, according to the anonymous tipster.
“No way Her Majesty will allow Meghan and Harry to keep their titles to selfishly stuff their bank accounts,” the source said.
The report hasn’t been verified
One should take the report with a grain of salt because there is no strong evidence supporting the claim. The outlet only quoted unnamed sources who remain questionable.
Also, the Sussexes are having a good relationship with the Queen and the rest of the royals.
New Idea and Globe have a reputation for publishing articles based on the statements of its undependable sources, so the report could be another groundless claim waiting to be debunked. Royals fans should take these hearsays lightly until everything is proven true and correct.
Meanwhile, royal expert Robert Lacey shared his thoughts about the mother. He believed that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle might no longer be royals after the whole arrangement. However, revoking their titles doesn’t mean the Queen is punishing them.
“Obviously if the review in March concludes they can’t stay working royals, then it’s quite likely they would lose or forfeit their HRH styles. They have already put it into suspension,” he said.
