Latest media reports are shedding some light on the reason behind rising Chicago-based rapper Juice WRLD’s untimely demise, which left many people in shock. Jarad Anthony Higgins, popularly known by his stage name Juice WRLD passed away on December 8, following a cardiac arrest, less than a week after his 21st birthday. According to a recent report by TMZ, the 21-year-old rapper allegedly popped pills during his flight to Chicago on his private jet. According to police, people on the plane said that the late rapper had “popped several pills” prior to suffering seizures.
The report also stated that the private jet was loaded with nearly 70 lbs of marijuana. Law enforcement sources told the publication that the FBI confiscated the “huge stash” of weed from multiple suitcases that were on board the flight. Various members of the rapper’s team who were aboard the flight told them that the artist had taken “several unknown pills” prior to the seizures after which he was rushed to a hospital. The publication also stated that one of Juice’s associates told authorities the 21-year-old rapper had a Percocet problem. The officials also found a bottle of codeine cough syrup in the jet.
The late rapper, who won Top New Artist at the 2019 Billboard Awards, had been vocal about his addiction in the past. He had earlier admitted abusing lean, or codeine cough syrup and taking prescription pills like Percocet. It still remains unclear if the drugs played a role in the rapper’s tragic demise. No cause of death has been determined as of now but an autopsy will be conducted by Cook County Medical Examiner on Monday. Two security guards named Chris Long and Henry Dean, who accompanied the rapper in the private jet, were recently arrested for the possession of handguns. TMZ reported that the cops recovered a total of three guns. Dean was released without bail, and Long is out after posting a USD 1,500 bond.
