In a recent interview, the 38-year-old model opened up about how “the plan” was always to raise their kids in the UK. She told The Times, “We love the schools, the education. They’re growing up British with their little British accents, which was important for us, and we have a great support system here.”
Coming from Devon herself, Rosie admitted it was a dream come true to have their children experience a similar upbringing to the one she had. Having family close by has made the move even sweeter. “Jay’s parents live up the road and see the kids most days, my family come to visit every six or eight weeks,” she said, painting a picture of a tight-knit family life that’s worlds away from the LA scene they left behind.
Rosie went on to explain how they spend their summers soaking up all that countryside life has to offer. “In the summer we go down to Devon and our children have the same experiences running around on the farm that I had growing up, and it’s very special,” she added.
While it all sounds idyllic now, Rosie admitted it wasn’t exactly smooth sailing from the start. After so many years in the US, getting used to life back in Britain took a bit of adjustment. Still, the pull of home and family made it worth it.
Another big reason behind the move was Jason’s work. With his acting career often taking him away for long shoots, staying in America would have meant being apart from his family even more. Rosie explained that being based in London meant they could all stay closer together rather than being stretched across different continents.
Jason and Rosie, who got engaged back in 2016, have been together since 2009, and it’s clear they’ve been making decisions with their family’s future in mind every step of the way.
It’s not every day you see A-listers willingly step away from the glitz of Hollywood, but for Rosie and Jason, it looks like home, family, and giving their kids a proper British childhood was worth everything.
