Less than two weeks later, the divorce was finalized. Although a lot of the specifics of their divorce were kept confidential, it was known that Katie and Tom got along well enough to share full custody of their daughter.
Many fans still ponder Katie’s complete custody decision. Though nothing has been verified, there is conjecture that it has to do with Tom’s religious convictions; Katie may not have wanted Suri to be exposed to Scientology, so she decided not to disclose their marriage in return for full custody.
According to rumors, Suri no longer communicates with her famous father and hasn’t seen him in a long time. It seems to assume that she has the same bond with her elder half-siblings. During his marriage to Nicole Kidman, Tom adopted two children: son Connor (born in 1995) and daughter Isabella (born in 1992). The following information relates to Suri’s interactions with her older, adult siblings.
It was common for photographers to get sight of Tom and Kate with their kids throughout their marriage. Suri has been spotted a couple of times with her parents and elder siblings, demonstrating that she has already met Isabella and Connor. However, there aren’t any current images that depict Suri spending time with her grown-up siblings.
Sadly, given that Suri hasn’t reportedly seen her father in years, it’s probable that she has little to no contact with Tom’s elder children. Because of their strong bond with him, Isabella and Connor decided to move in with him when their mother, Nicole Kidman, filed for divorce in 2001.
Although they are now adults, they are supposedly still close to Tom (their membership in Scientology is a clear indicator of this), thus it’s difficult to believe they would go against his wishes to date Suri when Tom allegedly doesn’t.
It is unknown what caused the former power couple to divorce as Tom and Katie haven’t spoken about it in the media. However, it has long been conjectured that Tom’s Scientologist views played a role in the divorce and may account for why he no longer has a close connection with their daughter.
Katie supposedly studied Scientology when she was married to Tom, but she lost interest in the movement. She apparently decided to divorce Tom to keep herself from becoming further integrated into the gang. She now lives permanently in New York with Suri, who is a student at a private Catholic school. Her father, a Scientologist, probably doesn’t appreciate the fact that she was raised a Catholic.
Over the years, rumors have circulated that Tom’s involvement in Scientology is what separates him from Suri, but it’s unclear if visiting his daughter would go against his religious convictions or whether it has more to do with the custody and divorce settlement Tom and Katie reached.
One insider revealed to Us Weekly that Tom is entitled to visitation but chooses to utilize it to see Suri. The source said, “He chooses not to because she is not a Scientologist,” adding that he pays $30,000 in child support each month.
Tom never meant things to be this way and wants to have a connection with Suri in the future, a second insider told Hollywood Life the year after. “He still loves her,” they said. When he and Katie chose to have a family, Tom had no intention of being alienated from his daughter. He looks forward to mending their ties in the future.
It’s possible that Katie doesn’t want Suri to interact with her older siblings because of their engagement with the religion if she divorced Tom in order to remove herself and their daughter from Scientology.
Isabella, Tom’s oldest daughter, is not just an active Scientologist but also a prominent church leader. She announced in a church promotional film in 2019 that she had completed the training required to become an auditor, a Scientologist who asks and audits other Scientologists about their personal life.
It takes a few tantrums and trips to the toilet to have a small episode, but she said that it is all worthwhile because you will prevail. “This is a gift to both you and a lot of other people. It doesn’t matter whether you’re not planning to join the staff or become an auditor.
With the words, “If you are going to make it as a being for the long run, you NEED this,” Isabella urged other Scientologists to go through the same training she completed. That is the case, so quit being silly and move on.
As of the right moment, Suri doesn’t seem to get along with her elder siblings. However, the youngster will only have a few more years until she is allowed to decide for herself whether or not she seeks a connection with her dad and half-siblings.
