Taylor Swift’s row with Big Machine is about so much more than the music

Justin Bieber is hitting the headlines as he took his manager Scooter Braun and Scott’s side amidst the controversy. On his Instagram story, he shared a screenshot of a news piece of TMZ which had a headline, “Taylor Swift Free to Play All Her Hits During AMAs… Big Machine Can’t Stop Her”.

Taylor Swift and Big Machine’s Scooter Braun and Scott Borchetta’s feud over the former using her old songs is getting uglier by the day with celebs taking sides. For the unversed, Swift took to her social media to allege that Scooter and Scott are not allowing her to perform a medley of her hits at the upcoming American Music Awards as well as for her Netflix documentary. Many celebs including Halsey, Gigi Hadid and Selena Gomez came out in support of Taylor.  And now, Justin Bieber is hitting the headlines as he took his manager Scooter Braun and Scott’s side. On his Instagram story, he shared a screenshot of a news piece of TMZ which had a headline, “Taylor Swift Free to Play All Her Hits During AMAs… Big Machine Can’t Stop Her”. For the unversed, Bieber previously spoke out in support of his manager when Braun when the latter had taken over Big Machine label. Big Machine had released a statement that read, “At no point did we say Taylor could not perform on the AMAs or block her Netflix special. In fact, we do not have the right to keep her from performing live anywhere. Big Machine’s confusion with her statement is that we have no legal right to stop this and have never tried.” However, Swift’s spokeswoman said that Scott “flatly denied the request for both American Music Awards and Netflix.” This is not all, as per her spokesperson, Big Machine also owes the Lover singer nearly USD 8 million in unpaid royalties.
