There is no other event that puts the spotlight on American fashion like the CFDA Fashion Awards that took place last night in New York, glittering with teary acceptance speeches, outrageous outfits and of course, the elite in the fashion world.
The Media Award was given in honor of Eugenia Sheppard to Hilary Alexander, the Founders Award was given in honor of Eleanor Lambert and the Fashion Icon Award was given to no doubt, Lady Gaga.
Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez for Proenza Schouler took the award for the Womenswear Designer of the Year.
Alexander Wang picked up the Accessory Designer of the Year award and Marc Jacobs received the Geoffrey Beene Lifetime Achievement Award.
Among the other winners was Michael Bastian for Menswear Designer of the Year. Prabal Gurung and Robert Gellar got the Swarovski Award for Womenswear and Menswear Designer.
CFDA Fashion Awards is an excellent platform to recognize and appreciate emerging American talent in fashion and design.
