EDGING BACK IN: Three Dots is taking three steps back into retail. The first step is a 1,000-square-foot temporary store opening June 1 at Fred Segal Santa Monica. The store will only be around for six months, but represents Three Dots’ reentrance into U.S. retail after shutting a Melrose Avenue store in 2007. The store at Fred Segal will carry Three Dots’ women’s and men’s collections, and will mark the debut of its children’s line. Prices range from $40 to $375. In late June, Three Dots will make another retail move by opening a 300-square-foot pop-up shop in the Osaka department store Hankyu. Finally, Three Dots is on the hunt for a location to introduce a permanent retail flagship in the not-too-distant future. The Garden Grove, Calif.-based casual contemporary brand sells to 1,200 wholesale doors, including Neiman Marcus, Bloomingdale’s and Shopbop.
