Trump said in an emailed statement that the Times tried to “disparage our record-setting grassroots fundraising operation”.
“It has become a major threat against the Democrat Party which explains why the New York Times immediately rushed to defend their Radical Left allies,” he added.

The New York Times reported that the Trump campaign issued millions of dollars in refunds to donors during the final months of 2020, which allegedly exceeded that of President Joe Biden’s campaign. The paper cited “an investigation by The New York Times” that claimed some donors unwittingly agreed to weekly recurring campaign donation payments.
