ON THE RUN: Under Armour is preparing for its biggest marketing push ever and brought world-class athletes Tom Brady, Lindsey Vonn and Kemba Walker along to help get the word out. In a darkened studio on 37th Street in New York City Wednesday afternoon, Kevin Plank, the company’s founder and chief executive officer, took to the stage to introduce UA Spine RPM, the brand’s new footwear collection.
The shoes will make their debut on July 9. Vonn said because she has a lot of “knee issues,” she needs a shoe that won’t make her “a cripple when I’m 50,” and the UA Spine does the trick.
Plank said that when visiting New York and working out in Central Park, he “counts logos.” So he encouraged people to go out and try the shoes because “we need more logos on people’s feet.” The Spine retails for $99.99.
