For the senior royals, things can get pretty busy. Those such as Prince Charles, Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, Prince William and Katherine, Duchess of Cambridge, are constantly on the move, making visits to different places, and meeting more people than the rest of us could ever imagine.
Just like the rest of the world at this time, the royal family members remain on lockdown in their homes, and even though their responsibilities have not been completely put on hold, chances, are, they have a little more time to pursue other things.
Learning a new skill is always fun, especially when it is something that a person has never before imagined themselves doing.
For the wife of Prince Charles, it is no different. Here is why the Duchess of Cornwall is taking secret dance lessons.
It is true that many royal fans may not be as familiar with Camilla as they are with other royals like Prince William and Kate, but she still remains a vital part of the family. Camilla will one day be a queen consort, and her role is extremely important.
She didn’t become a royal until 2005, so we’ve only had about 15 years to really get to know the Duchess of Cornwall. According to CNN, she is a pretty amazing woman and carries out her royal duties with dignity and dedication.
Camilla is a patron of many charities and organizations and said to get along well with her two stepsons, Princes William and Harry, as well as their wives, Kate and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex.
When we think athletic royals, one of the first names that come to mind is the Duchess of Cambridge, who is famously known for her love of the outdoors. But what about Camilla?
According to Reader’s Digest, she is actually pretty active. The 72-year old future queen absolutely loves horseback riding, and she is extremely good at it as well. She has been riding since she was a small child, and even after the years have passed, there is nothing that is slowing her down.
There are other sports that interest the duchess as well. She has been seen cheering on her favorite tennis players at Wimbledon and has been known to be very supportive of her stepson Prince Harry’s endeavors as the founder of the Invictus Games.
Camilla is such an amazing person, and just when we thought she couldn’t surprise us more, it has been revealed that she is taking secret ballet lessons.
How did this come to be? It turns out that although she was hesitant at first, Camilla decided that the time was right.
CNN reports that it was during a video call that the duchess told everyone she had taken up ballet after making a visit to the Royal Academy of Dance, where she watched a Silver Swans class. Silver Swans offers online classes aimed at those over 55 to learn ballet during the current lockdown.
Camilla was promoting the classes when she decided to give it a try herself with several “ancient friends.” She remembers watching a class several years ago, where she was blown away by everyone’s talent and realized that there was no reason that she couldn’t do it as well.
“I thought it was going to be very funny and I was going to laugh at everybody toppling over, but I think we concentrate so hard we don’t even know what our friend next door is doing,” said Camilla.
Camilla also revealed she believe dancing is linked to happiness. “I think dancing makes you happy,” she said. “I’m very, very much a beginner and probably will always remain a beginner, but I do feel after a year, 18 months, of doing it that maybe I have improved a tiny bit. But I’m certainly not going to be taking to the stage. I shall keep it in my own home.”
