It was designed by Arcanum Architecture, a San Francisco-based studio, who have managed to live up to the task of building an enormous, contemporary residence surrounded by a lush, forested area. By an enormous residence I mean whole 6,700 square feet of living spaces on a corner where a broad avenue and a side street meet. The construction of the Atherton Avenue Residence is made up of four volumes staggered along the center only to be connected by a passage that begins in the atrium, extending all the way northward towards a series of bedrooms and bathrooms.
