The annual Cinema Against AIDS Gala to benefit amfAR is a perennial highlight on the Cannes calendar, but this year it proved more glamorous than ever as it celebrated its twentieth anniversary.
Carine Roitfeld curated this year’s fashion show – entitled The Ultimate Gold Collection – and enlisted 38 of the world’s top models to take to the catwalk. Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Karlie Kloss, Joan Smalls, Karolina Kurkova and Alessandra Ambrosio were merely a handful of the golden goddesses who walked the catwalk in designs from the likes of Chanel, Prada, Alexander McQueenand Burberry.
Cannes’ stars came out in force to support the cause: Roberto Cavalli hosted a table that included Sharon Stone, Kylie Minogue and Olivia Palermo with Ellie Goulding, Shirley Bassey and Duran Duran providing the musical entertainment; while Leonardo DiCaprio watched on as one lucky bidder paid €1.2 million (£1,029,000) to travel into space with the movie star.
