amfAR Inspiration Gala, New York 2011

The event of 25th anniversary for the American Foundation for AIDS (amfAR) Inspiration Gala held at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) on June 14, 2011 in New York City. Many celebrities attended this festive day that aimed to raise money for AIDs research.

Inspiration, an amfAR event series was introduced in 2010 with events held in New York, Paris, and Los Angeles. It takes a different designs and style “inspiration” each year measuring all of its aspects. The inspiration for year 2011 was “men’s style” with the theme being “Black Tie, Hot Metal”. All the guests attending the event were supposed to wear dress inspired by theme for which world’s leading men’s fashion designers donated their pieces based on the “Black Tie, Hot Metal” theme. The Foundation’s innovative AIDS research programs get benefit of it.

The celebrities attending the 25th anniversary for the American Foundation for AIDS (amfAR) Inspiration Gala include, James Franco, German model and TV personality Heidi Klum, American singer Ke$ha, American catwalk model Chanel Iman, Actress and singer Jennifer Hudson, Canadian-American singer and songwriter Rufus Wainwright, Sudanese-British model Alek Wek, Singer Courtney Love, Fashion designer Michael Kors, Fashion designer Kenneth Cole, Ana Matronic of the band the Scissor Sister, Liza Minelli, American food critic Katie Lee, Actress Joanna Swisher, Beth Ostrosky Stern, Johannes Huebl, Lance Bass, Andy Cohen, Ward Simmons, Model Armando Cabral, Model Armando Cabral, Model Tiiu Kuik, Model Marcelle Bitta, Model Garrett Neff, Model Mark Vanderloo, Model Lasse, Model RJ Rogenski.

Liza Minelli and Jennifer Hudson went on stage for special performances. Actor James Franco received the Piaget Award of Inspiration for his advocacy for HIV-AIDS research whereas fashion designer Michael Kors was honored with the amfAR Award of Courage.

In the evening, a men’s fashion show held in which fashion designers Thom Browne, Roberto Cavalli and Vivienne Westwood presented their latest collection for men. Arzu Kaprol Couture dresses were totally seductive that model Jessica White presented on the fashion runway.
