Indre Rockefeller, Prabal Gurung, Jessica Stam, and More Support the Love Heals 2015 Gala
Indre Rockefeller, Prabal Gurung, Jennifer Fisher, and Jessica Stam gathered in the iconic, walnut-walled Pool Room at The Four Seasons restaurant for an evening of fine dining by the water. The occasion? The annual Love Heals Gala, a night of support for the foundation dedicated to Alison Gertz and launched in 1992, which seeks to eliminate new HIV infections through community education and outreach.
“In my world, there are no guarantees of happily ever after,” said Hal Rubenstein, who has been living with HIV for more than 30 years and doubled as host and honoree for the night. “Maybe the fact that I’m here today, as a long time survivor, is just dumb luck. The good news no the great news is that no one has to be dumb ever.”
Rubenstein’s tear-stricken speech, touching on the support of family and the essential nature of prevention education, echoed the words of Love Heals founders (and Ali’s childhood friends) Stefani Greenfield, Victoria Leacock Hoffman, and Dini von Mueffling: “This new generation is growing up and hasn’t come to terms with the risks and realities of HIV,” said von Mueffling as champagne and white wine were served. “We’re here to help.”
After interior designer Eric Villency and philanthropists Eliza Howard and Molly Howard also received awards, it was time for the live auction.
