Georgia May was among the friends and family that gathered at the elder Jagger’s pre-Christmas sale at her London studio on New Bond Street.
“For the first time in my life, I really need some new clothes,” said Georgia May Jagger as she and Kate Moss smoked cigarettes out of the window at Jade Jagger’s Christmas cocktails on Tuesday night. Georgia May was among the friends and family that gathered at the elder Jagger’s pre-Christmas sale at her London studio on New Bond Street. Shoppers perused her glittering jewelry collections, trying on all manner of golden skull necklaces, chrysoprase rings and spinning-ball diamond pavé rings.
“I’m in a bit of a panic about Christmas,” said Jade, who this year gave birth to her third child and first son, Ray Emmanuel Fillary, four weeks after her daughter Assisi had a daughter, Ezra Key. “I thought I had been organized and was ready but I really am not. I have got to the stage with the girls [daughters Assisi and Amba] where they just give me a list, but there’s still a lot to do.”
Around the corner, veteran catwalk photographer Chris Moore was celebrating an exhibition of his images at The Duke Street Emporium in Mayfair. The 80-year-old snapper recently received the Special Recognition award at the British Fashion Awards, and was joined at the party by guests including Mary Katrantzou and Suzy Menkes.
“There have been times when the shutter has closed and I just knew I’d captured something special,” said Moore, weaving a path through the store. “Like this one,” he said, indicating a scene of a model being fitted backstage at Bill Gaytten’s autumn 2011 couture show for Christian Dior. “I usually hate being backstage, it’s too manic, but when the two women in the background turned to look at the model, it made a great picture.”
Moore said the greatest runway moments in his 50-year career were John Galliano’s and Alexander McQueen’s shows, and he admitted to getting tearful at a few Issey Miyake events over the years, and at the first McQueen presentation following the designer’s death.
