Drivers cruising down Wilshire Boulevard on Saturday evening were oblivious to the star-studded Hollywood affair taking place just steps outside of their luxury vehicles and smart cars. On the other side of Chris Burden’s Urban Light, LACMA’s Fourth Annual Art+Film Gala was under way. Leonardo DiCaprio and Eva Chow were the evening’s hosts, Chow noting, “The Art+Film Gala has become one of the most fabulous events of the year in Los Angeles, the creative capital of the world.” The evening’s guest list would leave even the most cynical starstruck.

Art world veterans such as John Baldessari, Larry Gagosian, and Frank Gehry, actors like Amy Adams, James Franco, and Kate Hudson, musicians including Kanye West, Florence Welch, and Boy George, fashion world favorites Lisa Eisner, Kate Mulleavy and Laura Mulleavy, and Scott Sternberg, models Cindy Crawford and Toni Garrn, as well as some of the entertainment industry’s finest, Brad Grey, Guy Oseary, and Bryan Lourd, gathered together to celebrate the museum and honor Barbara Kruger and Quentin Tarantino.

Rachel Zoe, Rodger Berman, and Greg Chait discussed where they took their kids trick-or-treating on Halloween the night before, while Cara Delevingne, Kate Beckinsale, and Selena Gomez posed together, all three clad in Gucci. Salma Hayek Pinault, also wearing Gucci, chatted with Katharine Ross and Michael Govan as Demi Moore and Eric Buterbaugh strolled through the party arm in arm, the room dramatically lit in crimson. Dinner was called and Catherine Opie, Tobey Maguire, and Jennifer Meyer Maguire all found their seats with others like Kirsten Dunst, Garrett Hedlund, and Eddie Redmayne.

After dinner and a recognition of the night’s honorees, Culture Club performed in front of a vast wall of red roses. As the band played the last beats to “Do You Really Want to Hurt Me,” partygoers made their way back out into the night.
