Given how passionately both Jennifer Meyer and Jessica Alba support philanthropy in developing countries?particularly countries battling mother-to-child transmission of HIV a collaboration between the two friends and mothers is a natural fit.

To celebrate the launch of Jennifer Meyer xo Jessica Alba, Meyer and Alba hosted a small dinner with friends last night on the back patio of the Sunset Tower. Guests included Kerry Washington, Rachel Zoe, Ellen Pompeo, Brigette Romanek, and Greg Chait, plus young moms Molly Sims, Sara Foster, Kelly Sawyer, Emily Current, and Merritt Elliott. Fellow attendee and florist extraordinaire Eric Buterbaugh provided the beautiful pink rose arrangements for the evening.

The evening highlight was a preview of the two different heart necklaces, made of ruby and gold. Available exclusively on Gilt, sales support (RED)’s mission of an AIDS-free generation; each purchase will provide more than nine months of medication to an HIV-positive pregnant woman in need.

In addition to keeping mothers alive and healthy, Meyer and Alba both pointed out the medicine provided through their collaboration of heart necklaces will prevent transmission of the virus to unborn children. A worthy cause indeed.
