The 2013 Oscars countdown officially kicked off yesterday as this year's nominees came together for a celebratory luncheon in Los Angeles.

The 2013 Oscars countdown officially kicked off yesterday as this year’s nominees came together for a celebratory luncheon in Los Angeles.

Not an event to start predicting this year’s Academy Awards red carpet style, the female nominees followed a dress code of demure dresses while the boys opted for suits and open shirts.

Anne Hathaway kept it classic in a The Row black shift dress while Naomi Watts also opted for an elegant LBD, choosing an embroidered design by Valentino. Amy Adams and Jessica Chastain both wore spring florals – by J Mendel and Erdem respectively – while Jennifer Lawrence arrived in a white strapless dress from Chloe’s spring/summer 2013 collection. The Oscars take place on February 24 2013. – vogue
