Poppy Delevingne Hosts the Jo Malone Blossom Ball at Jo Malone West London

The temperature may have dwindled to a brisk 45 degrees in West London, but one certainly couldn’t tell from inside the blooming Jo Malone HQ which had been transformed into a fragrant spring floral soirée to celebrate Poppy Delevingne’s appointment as the inaugural Jo Malone London Girl.

“I’m so thrilled you’re all here! Welcome to our beautiful Blossom Ball,” greeted Delevingne in a bespoke, sky blue Jonathan Saunders gown and metallic Nicholas Kirkwood heels. “The flowers are quite something, aren’t they?” she asked, gesturing to the extraordinary display of blooms by artisan florist

Scarlet & Violet, which scaled the walls and framed the spiral staircase of the Georgian townhouse. “I have some roses in my hair too, to match,” she added. Elegant, charismatic, and quintessentially British, the 28-year-old model makes a pitch-perfect ambassador for the feted fragrance brand. “Jo Malone scents have always been present during my life, so there’s an emotional connection there which makes this feel so natural.

Mary CharterisLast year, my husband and I scented our wedding with Orange Blossom,” she revealed, before adding, “Tonight I’m wearing an eclectic blend of Tuberose Angelica, which is sensual, and Peony & Blush Suede, which makes me feel carefree and a little bit wild.”

A bountiful bouquet of guests, including designer Alice Temperley, Matthew Williamson, a dapper David Gandy, and It Brit models Lottie Moss and Daisy Lowe (who looked a vision in a white, bias-cut silk Halfpenny London dress) gathered by the candlelit bar and sipped on the playful array of “Poptails”.

Meanwhile, fashion editors such as Bay Garnett and Caroline Issa dressed in her own line from Nordstrom mingled in front of the house band, Three & A Half Men, who served up sparky renditions of classic pop hits such as Queen’s “I Want to Break Free.”

The festivities wound to a flashbulb-popping climax after model Mary Charteris took to the decks in a diaphanous gown, before heading downstairs to strike a sultry pose with Delevingne on the blossom-bedecked “kissing swing.” Heaven scent.
