Blake Lively and More Celebrate the Premiere of The Age of Adaline at the Metropolitan Club

It was an evening of everlasting glamour as The Age of Adaline premiered last night in New York City’s Lincoln Square. Starring Blake Lively, Michiel Huisman, Harrison Ford, and Ellen Burstyn, the film tells the life story of a woman named Adaline, played by Lively, who ceases aging. We see Adaline through various points in her life: with different loves, new discoveries, and the search for significance.

Josh Tryhane and Sierra FurtadoActress Amanda Crew noted that because “this film passes over all decades, and shows the fashion through all of that,” Adaline is quite the sartorial feast. Lively, who is looking forward to “not having to wear a puffy coat” in this newly minted New York spring weather, stunned on the red carpet in a springtime-ready cherry Monique Lhuillier gown.

The celebration moved on to the Metropolitan Club, off the corner of Central Park. In a room decked in golden accents and rich red velvet, with guests tucked away in side tables, the party replicated the film in themes of age-old romance and timelessness. The party continued in side rooms as the night cooled down. The energy of brassy jazz melted into swing music, and endless candlelight took the evening to a separate time. As Sinatra’s thematic “You Make Me Feel So Young” filled the club, its sentiment rang true: A perfect toast to a film about timeless energy, love, and discovery.
