Balenciaga Spring/ Summer 2011 collection was the cast of models who showcased the clothing on the runway of Paris Fashion Week.
Another great collection from Nicolas Ghesquiere, and Burberry must be kicking themselves- this is how biker chic should look next season. With a predictably stellar shoe design to pine over for months each model was suitably fierce in sleeveless biker jackets and cropped slouchy trousers. Balenciaga Spring/Summer 2011 Collection was a clashing of masculine and feminine, real and faux, old and new.
Prints and patchwork came with the usual Balenciaga spin- looking to the future- in chiffon, animal print and PVC panels. Shirts and jackets pulled together from various fabrics made for interesting viewing, and we’re sure we’ll be going back for another peep before the day is out.
Famous fashion model Miranda Kerr and Giselle appeared on the catwalk, the former in a leather dogtooth coat dress which opened the first few looks of the show. Dresses were asymmetrical on the shoulder, with a shattered print effect that reminds us yet again of school art projects, with the look of twisting plastic and metal scraps into a much more impressive construction.
