Lamarck Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Tokyo Spring/Summer 2015 Collection, Mercedes-Benz Spring/Summer Tokyo 2015 Collection by Fashion label Lamarck
Shinsuke Morishita produced a strong collection for Lamarck comprising unique, modern clothes that married innocence with toughness and gave a cool-girl edge to slightly prim pieces.
For one look, he paired a sheer floral top with leather shorts. In another instance, a see-through open-knit lavender sweater provided the perfect sexy, feminine contrast to a mannish pair of shorts. This juxtaposition played into the designer’s “coexistence” theme.
Overall, Morishita elevated mere basics such as pleated shorts and loose-fitting pants into more interesting pieces with double waistbands and two sets of belt loops. Button-down skirts featured side pockets reminiscent of trenchcoats.
Another standout was a pair of slim trousers made from a “cut jacquard” fabric in which nylon and cotton are woven together before hand-cutting the cotton. It created a look that recalled ripped jeans but was more sophisticated. This fabric was also used in a T-shirt worn with a midi-length wrap skirt.
