Longchamp Fall RTW Collection for Fashion show Paris 2016
Strong outerwear and a surfeit of prints from cheetah to chevron were the highlights of Longchamp’s ready-to-wear identity under creative director Sophie Delafontaine.
While it has some distance to go to forge an identity as strong as Longchamp’s handbags, some items stood out in a range whose conceit was “nature returning to the city.” An abstract zig-zag print anchored the clothes and accessories, including on a shearling skirt, coat and tote. Additional prints such as leopard and camouflage in separates were mixed and matched with reversible outerwear in ponyskin, rabbit fur and nylon-wool combos.
The standouts were a laminated leather and gray wool topcoat with fur lining, and a lambskin number with cheetah-print rabbit fur for the lapels.
