Missoni, which skipped any traditional shows or presentations during Milan Fashion Week in September, opted to reveal its spring 2021 collection via look book.
While styling usually plays a key role, this time creative Angela Missoni kept it simple and essential. Instead of the brand’s traditional layering, the images reveal a more spontaneous, realistic look — and it was refreshing.
Geometry is something close to Missoni’s heart and this season the designer offered a charming interpretation of the brand’s graphic schemes by combining slender, vertical silhouettes with a range of horizontal patterns, necklines and cuts.
Knit dresses, sometimes off-the-shoulder, were cut close to the body — their femininity heightened by high slits — while cropped tops and cardigans in horizontal stripes were paired with minis or pencil skirts.
Next to the unmissable geometric patterns, Missoni introduced a range of pieces in solids in intriguing textures, complementing this concise and focused lineup.
