71-Year-Old Grandma Thrown Off Plane, Airline’s Reason Has Everyone Angry

A simple query from a 71-year-old grandma to a flight attendant set off a series of events. She was ejected from the aircraft only a short while afterward. Now that the airline has provided an explanation, everyone is furious as hell. This is awful.

Ellen Flemming, 71, is a regular traveler who has never had any problems when flying. So when she asked the flight attendant for a simple favor when she was on a journey from Pearson International Airport in Toronto to New Brunswick, she never imagined she would get the answer she did from Air Canada workers.

When Ellen requested the cabin staff for a straightforward service, she was on a trip with her husband and two grandkids. There was nothing unusual about it, for sure. She thus never imagined in a million years that the query would start a series of events that would ultimately cause the aircraft and her life to change drastically. She alleges she was wounded as a consequence of being thrown off the airplane, which she did to her complete amazement and terror.

According to Inside Edition Ellen, the event started when she saw moist rubbish in the seat pocket in front of her. She requested that he take it off when she summoned the flight attendant over. He was about to assist when he suddenly became upset and refused. I’m a flight attendant and I don’t look after rubbish, he responded, raising himself to his full height, Ellen recounted.

She was astonished by the reply, but she handled it coolly, sitting seated and keeping her cool. She attempted to remove the garbage herself when she saw the food cart approach, but things soon became heated. The rubbish is said to have flown all over Ellen and her husband as the flight attendant reportedly slapped her arm away, before hitting the ground and being swept away with her foot.

Although Ellen was taken aback by the answer and uncalled-for behavior, she assumed the matter was resolved. Sadly, when the pilot said that the aircraft had to turn back and would be returning to British Columbia due to an incident, things only became worse.

Ellen was not aware that she was the “incident” at the time. But as the aircraft touched down, she discovered that she was being removed from the flight by police and was informed that she would not be permitted to travel with Air Canada again. She couldn’t figure out why. She wasn’t helped much by Air Canada’s explanation either.

The airline allegedly claimed in a letter that Ellen “exhibited aggressive behavior toward a crew member; threw garbage on the food trolley; kicked a crew member when requested to wait until the member could come back and pick up the garbage as he was serving food.” However, Fox News stated that Ellen claims this is far from the truth and that other travelers have come out to support her.

Helen Hollett, one of these passengers, claims she spent the whole journey sitting next to Ellen and her family. Helen claims that she was not there when the 71-year-old lady displayed hostile behavior. She claims that the flight attendant was the one who was “irate” and “screaming” instead, according to Global News.

Helen said, “The thing is, most of the people on that plane didn’t even know what was happening.” Additionally, the police seem to have the same viewpoint and said there was no need to press charges against the grandma since no crimes were committed.

Just to be clear. The staff should be respected by the passengers, but reciprocal respect should also be offered. She also didn’t do anything wrong. Instead, the attitude of “it’s not my job” was chosen by someone, which is how it all began.

Would taking out the garbage have harmed the travel experience of this lady and the flight attendant? Furthermore, why do they come around and collect the garbage after handing out beverages on every flight I’ve ever been on if it’s not their responsibility to do so? This specific flight attendant ought to find another job if he feels it is beneath him to toss away trash for a passenger. However, he doesn’t seem like he’d make a very good employee anyplace.

No matter how mundane the activity, if you are capable of doing anything that improves the customer’s experience, you should consider that to be your job. If one person had shown that thoughtful mindset rather than an entitled superiority complex, all of this would have been prevented. Sadly, his haughtiness cost an old lady her life.
