Fashion Month’s Top 5 Street Style Stars

A new generation of Russian street style stars has arrived on the scene.

Now that the Fashion Month craziness has subsided, we’ve finally had time to mull over everything we saw on the runway and, even more important, what we saw off the runway. The street-style vibe this season was definitely self-aware.

There was no shortage of colorful, fancy maxidresses and covetable Gucci accessories at every show. And even though the competition for the Golden Peacock Awards is stiff every year, there are always a few who rise above the rest, even without wearing a full Vetements look. Scroll down to see our top five street-style stars of the month.

Yoyo Cao

She always seems to have the simplest clean looks, walking into shows like she just casually put her outfit together. Refreshingly, she doesn’t always wear head-to-toe runway, and the clothes she picks are usually wearable for normal, non-fashion humans. In Yoyo’s case, less is so much more.

Julia Sarr-Jamois

Julia’s style is hard to sum up but leans toward the eclectic, tomboy side of the spectrum. Her sense of fashion is exquisite, and she has a knack for mixing colors, textures, and patterns without looking like a clown.

Miroslava Duma

A street-style veteran, Mira has evolved from her early days of wearing extravagant Dolce & Gabbana looks (complete with ornate headpiece) to showing up in a vintage T-shirt, jeans, and neutral Gucci sandals. It’s nice to see her in casual, elevated looks that are a mix of practical and aspirational.

Gilda Ambrosio

Besides the models, there really isn’t anyone as cool as Gilda when it comes to street style. From her pin-straight long black hair to her chic collection of sunglasses — not to mention her cool shoes — Gilda’s got the goods.

Yasmin Sewell

Yasmin has always had the inside scoop on the best new designers, like this coat she wore in Milan from emerging brand Beaufille. She has become a mainstay on street-style blogs but maintained her own laid-back sense of style, complete with fuss-free hair.
