Following her arrest on charges of murdering Glory Njeri, ripping open her corpse, and consuming some of her organs, Olivia Naserian, 24, made her court appearance in Kenya on Wednesday.
Through a window, neighbors were able to observe Naserian assault the little girl. She allegedly repeatedly stabbed her while hymning and saying the alphabet. Locals then notified the police, who subsequently detained the mom on murder suspicion.
The 24-year-old appeared in court in Kajiado, where the chief magistrate gave her the go-ahead to continue spending another 10 days in police detention while the investigation into Njeri’s death is ongoing. On May 8, she must show up for another hearing.
Local sources claim that on April 23, Naserian beat her daughter at their house in the town of Kitengela, some 20 miles south of Nairobi, the capital of Kenya.
After hearing Njeri’s cries, neighbors hurried to the family’s house because they thought the mother and daughter had been assaulted by criminals.
However, according to the Kenyan publication The Star, the woman was seen beating her daughter while singing nursery rhymes while completely nude.
They saw in horror as the mother fatally stabbed her daughter before dissecting her corpse. They saw her consume the girl’s internal organs after failing to open the door.
When they entered the house, the daughter had already passed away and Naserian was unconscious. The Star was informed by locals that nobody else was at home at the time.
One neighbor said to The Standard in Kenya that they overheard the mother repeating, “You won’t cry again, my baby.”You will always be asleep. You are loved, my daughter.
“We watched as the woman consumed the liver of her infant,” they continued. Before falling asleep, she removed other internal parts such as the heart and intestines from the body. The corpse of the two-year-old was removed for a postmortem.
Benson Mutia, the director of the Kitengela Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), stated, “We believe the court will give us more time to investigate this matter.” She stated that the goal of the investigation is to determine if the lady has any mental health issues.
Mutia remarked, “What she did to her own kid is inexplicable. The horrible tragedy was preceded by some strange behavior, according to Naserian’s aunt, who spoke to Nairobi Wire after her niece had just returned from Kirinyaga, where she had been living with her partner for around eight months.
Gladys Wanjiku said that while her daughter had seemed joyful at first, by the following Sunday, she had begun screaming and speaking in tongues. Before the murder, she also shattered windows, TVs, and kitchen appliances.
“There is a serious problem. Naserian reportedly began speaking in tongues and running after the sole dog at home hours before descending on her kid, according to accounts we are hearing from our neighbors.
