Like the season itself, summer scents shouldn’t be too complicated. We want crisp, fresh, airy and fun; we want to think of timeshares, rooftop cocktails and easy flings. These fragrances deliver all of that, while still staying sophisticated and surprising.
With the new year just a few days away we want to compile a list of the top women’s fragrances in terms of both quality and overall appeal. These are in my opinion, the best smelling perfumes out on the market as of today. While this is by no means a complete list and there are of course many other great options, these are the ones that have stood out and developed a reputation of having beautiful scents.
Eros Pour Femme Versace for women
"Eros is God of love and the goal of Eros Pour Femme campaign was to present that Eros was seduced and to suggest the strength of a woman," stated Donatella Versace, who added that photos for the campaign were taken in Pinewood studio in London in water reservoirs where the James Bond movies were filmed. The campaign is signed by photographers Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott. The faces of the campaign are Brian Shimansky, known as advertising face of Eros and Lara Stone, advertising face of Eros Pour Femme who comes out of the water in a white dress and golden gladiator sandals!
Mod Noir Marc Jacobs for women
Mod Noir is an airy gardenia scent (the favorite flower of the designer) developed by Jean-Claude Delville. Its floral-musky composition opens with dewy greens that are enhanced with citrusy nuances of clementine and yuzu. The heart captures fresh gardenia petals enhanced with white flowers such as magnolia, water lily and tuberose. The base reveals notes of creamy musk, sensual and long-lasting, and an unusual combination of orange blossom and nectarine that leave a delicate floral-fruity trail.
Jimmy Choo Blossom Jimmy Choo for women
Jimmy Choo Blossom is a floral – fruity composition that begins with citrus notes and red fruits, among which raspberry dominates. Its gentle floral heart includes sweet peas and roses, followed by the base of sandalwood and white musk.
Stella Eau de Toilette Stella McCartney for women
Stella Eau de Toilette is a fresh and sparkling scent of garden rose. It contains the same notes of amber and rose as the original, but includes additional accords of frozen lemon, mandarin, freesia, peony and violet leaf. It opens with fresh mandarin and frozen lemon, balanced with watery tones of freesia to create a soft, dewy feeling. The floral heart of Bulgarian rose essence with crunchy violet leaves and delicate peony petals, brings a freshness to the fragranc, while amber gris base notes reveal a masculine undertone.
Extraordinary Oscar de la Renta for women
The composition is created by perfumers Pascal Gaurin and Bruno Jovanovic. The fragrance is adjusted to the younger population (25-35 years old), aiming to be elegant and fun at the same time. It opens with sparkling citrus notes leading to the bright floral heart of lush peony and neroli oil, and to the warm, woody base. It is announced as high quality, long lasting and "pink."
