Kate Middleton brother heartbreak: James Middleton dealt painful blow following happy news

KATE, DUCHESS OF CAMBRIDGE’s brother James Middleton is a proud dog owner and regularly posts about his pets on social media. The dog lover recently revealed some heartbreaking news about one of his canine friends.

James Middleton, 33, is Kate, Duchess of Cambridge’s younger brother and while he is not a member of the Royal Family he has a loyal fan base. James has 127,000 followers on Instagram and his account heavily revolves around his pet dogs.

His Instagram profile picture features him with one of his black spaniels and his bio reads: “Dog Dad to Ella, Zulu, Inka, Luna, Mabel & Nala.”

Last week James posted to tell fans he and his fiancee Alizee Thevenet had got a new spaniel puppy – Nala.

The post read: “Introducing Nala Middleton. She is daughter of Zulu & granddaughter of Ella.

“I cannot wait to share many adventures with her and the rest of the pack.

(Ps more very exciting news to share soon.)”

On Sunday the “more very exciting news” became evident when James posted to say their dog Luna had welcomed a litter of puppies but the happy news was bittersweet.

While black spaniel Luna has six healthy puppies, one of them didn’t survive.

Posting about the new arrivals on Instagram James wrote: “6 little friends for Nala to play with.

“A week ago Luna had three little pups at 5am, but we had to rush to the vets for an emergency c-section where another four pups were delivered.

“Sadly one didn’t make it but there are six healthy little pups suckling away happy as can be.”

He added: “They all have lovely homes waiting for them and I will be donating all the money from the sale of the pups to @petsastherapy_uk.”

James is an ambassador for charity Pets Therapy UK that organises therapeutic pet visits to care homes, hospitals and schools.

With many charities suffering amid lockdown it seems James wants to do his bit for Pets Therapy UK by donating the money raised from puppy sales to them.

James and his fiancee Alizee were due to marry in May but had to call the wedding off due to coronavirus.

Ahead of their would-be wedding, James decided to shave off his beard for the first time in seven years to surprise his fiancee.

He filmed himself taking clippers to his beard and shared the video on Instagram.

In the jokey video he says: “Seeing as Alizee and myself were due to get married this month, she’s never seen me without a beard.

‘I thought it was about time to show her what’s behind it.”
