Kering, a global luxury group, is poised to enhance its board of directors with the addition of three distinguished independent directors, Rachel Duan, Giovanna Melandri, and Dominique D’Hinnin, pending approval at the annual general meeting scheduled for April 25, 2024. These nominations come as part of a strategic refresh following the departure of key board members.

Rachel Duan brings to the table a wealth of global leadership experience from her 25-year tenure at General Electric, where she held pivotal roles, culminating in her position as Senior Vice President and President & CEO of GE Global Markets. Her extensive background spans across the United States, Japan, and China, promising to infuse Kering’s board with a rich perspective on international business dynamics.

Giovanna Melandri, with her unique blend of Italian and US heritage, is renowned for her deep expertise in economics, particularly in the realms of sustainability and cultural matters. As the president of the Human Foundation and a pivotal figure in the Global Steering Group for Impact Investment, Melandri’s insights into sustainable finance and impact economy are expected to align well with Kering’s forward-looking agenda. Her illustrious political career in Italy, accentuated by her roles in cultural and youth policy, alongside her contributions to environmental and development conferences, further complements her profile as a prospective board member.

Dominique D’Hinnin, hailing from France, is set to bring his strategic and financial acumen to Kering’s board, currently serving as the chairman of Eutelsat Communications. His extensive experience as the CFO and co-managing partner of the Lagardère group positions him as a valuable asset for Kering’s future endeavors.

The induction of these three nominees is anticipated to fill the void left by Jean-François Palus, Tidjane Thiam, and Emma Watson, ensuring a seamless transition and continued strategic oversight for Kering. The upcoming AGM will mark a significant milestone in Kering’s journey, potentially setting the stage for a new chapter in its governance and strategic direction.
