True friendship is for ever and this has been proven in the case of Richie and Jenner even when things turned sour with the 21-year-old model and Disick. A source told Us Weekly that the breakup didn’t shake the two women’s connection at all.
“Sofia and Kylie are still friends and their friendship hasn’t been affected by her breakup with Scott. They have had a super close relationship for a while and Sofia hasn’t done anything wrong to make their friendship be jeopardized,” the insider explained.
In 2019, an insider revealed that the makeup mogul and Richie had formed a close tie years before Disick became the model’s boyfriend. Being in the same circle paved the way for them to forge a bond.
It also helped that Richie and Jenner are both famous celebrities, grew up in the public eye, and share a similar lifestyle. As such, the pair being unperturbed by the breakup may not be shocking at all.
On Wednesday (May 27), reports began swirling that Disick and Richie have called it quits after three years. They started dating in 2017, but their relationship wasn’t smooth-sailing.
The stunner and Disick’s ex-wife and Jenner’s sister, Kourtney Kardashian, had a conflict when the man introduced Richie to his kids, Mason, Penelope, and Reign. However, the warring individuals eventually repaired their connection, which, according to another insider, made the mom of Stormi feel comfortable bonding with the model.
Richie and Disick’s breakup came after the latter’s brief rehab stint to address his past traumas that stemmed from the death of his parents, contrary to rumors of substance abuse problems.
“In an effort to finally come to terms and deal with the pain that Scott has been silently suffering for many years due to the sudden death of his mother, followed by the death of his father three months later, Scott made the decision to check himself into a rehab facility last week to work on his past traumas.
He did not check in for any alcohol or cocaine abuse,” his representative told E! News. He entered a Colorado facility in April, but after photos of him in the vicinity leaked in May, he checked out immediately. Richie was allegedly instrumental in convincing Disick to seek treatment.
