Les Suites is the brainchild of Ukrainian-born Eka Iukuridze, who was exposed to couture at an early age thanks to her Georgian parents, who are in the wine and spirits industry.
After traveling the world and studying the dramatic arts, Iukuridze settled in Paris and decided to launch her own store.
"The driver for Les Suites was that I found service was lacking on the market," she said. Iukuridze wanted to bring back the ritual of the couture salons of old, and thus her store houses three salons on its first floor for fittings and employs two seamstresses full-time.
The 4,300-square-foot boutique on Rue Pierre Charron offers 53 ready-to-wear brands on its ground floor including Giambattista Valli, Haider Ackermann and Rochas, as well as lesser-known designers from around the world.
"For foreign clients, when they come to Paris they are looking for something different," she said.
Iukuridze will be showcasing the creations of Chinese designer Laurence Xu, who is showing as part of couture week in Paris this season, as part of her ready-to-wear offer.
For couture, Les Suites will be working with Trash Couture from Copenhagen, Denmark for eveningwear, French fur merchant and manufacturer Terzakou for furs and Tailleur Premium Paris for tailoring.
