In St.-Tropez, the A-list of fashion, music, and film came together to celebrate the Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation’s inaugural gala on 24th July, 2014 Thursday night. The foundation’s mission to preserve and protect the environment is haughty, but the Leonardo took to the stage and spoke directly to the crowd about the need for change.
Listening intently to DiCaprio were Selena Gomez and Cara Delevingne, who sported two different brands during the course of the whole evening, one from Dior, the other Emilio Pucci and Natasha Poly wore a sea-colored Roland Mouret dress.
It wasn’t just beautiful women in audience, though. DiCaprio called on longtime friend Bono to auction off his guitar which went for $1 million and perform with Julian Lennon as well. Not to be outdone, DiCaprio kicked off the live auction himself with some help from Simon de Pury by putting his Harley-Davidson motorcycle signed by Robert De Niro and Martin Scorcese on the block.
As the evening progressed, guests including Joan Collins Jared Leto and Marion Cotillard took in a performance by Robin Thicke. With all that excitement and fun, it’s no surprise that the event raised over $25 million, successfully putting the Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation on the map.
