Iris Strubegger was born the 21st July 1984. She left her native Austria at age 17 in order to study in New York. An agent in the Big Apple discovered her and succeeded in persuading Iris to become a model.
The following year, she signed with Elite Model Management. She made her catwalk debut at the Spring/Summer 2003 Calvin Klein fashion show. A few months later, she posed for her first campaign as the face of Armani’s Collezioni d’Armani line.
She later appeared in magazines i-d and The Face.Despite her growing success, Iris Strubegger decided to give modelling a rest in order to dedicate more time to her studies. After spending 4 years away from the catwalks, Iris made her fashion comeback. She was soon booked for dozens of shows including Dires Van Noten, Sonia Rykiel and Alexander McQueen. She catwalked for over 70 brands in the Spring/Summer 2009 season.
Since her return to the fashion sphere, she has posed for fashion magazines like Pop, Vogue and V Magazine. Talents such as Craig McDean, David Sims, Steven Meisel and Patrick Demarchelier among many others have photographed her.
In 2008, Iris became the face of Barney’s, Balenciaga, Pepe Jeans, Pollinii and Dolce & Gabbana. In autumn 2009, Iris Strubegger posed for Valentino and Givenchy.
