Hugo Boss has teamed up with the National Theatre to create costumes for forthcoming contemporary productions over the next year. The collaboration marks the first time that the celebrated London theatre has appointed an official contemporary clothing sponsor.
The first Hugo Boss creations will appear in the playhouse’s latest show, Damned by Despair, which opens tonight. The play comprises a new version of Tirso de Molina’s 17th Century Spanish classic – a fast-paced adventure story in which two strangers find their lives intertwined. The pairing means that the label now has access to the theatre’s spaces – including The Deck, which offers views over the Thames, and will be used as a venue for an assortment of the brand’s future activities.
