Michael Bastian will present his first overseas runway show in Porto, Portugal, on Friday, as a guest of Portugal Fashion, the organization that stages the city’s fashion week. The men’s show will include a selection of the designer’s favorite looks from his spring collection, which was shown during New York Fashion Week in September. Since buying back his license from Brunello Cucinelli two years ago, Bastian has tapped Portuguese factories for much of his manufacturing, including knits and jersey pieces, swim, casual pants, some tailored clothing and outerwear.
“In the past three seasons, I have moved a great deal of the production of my designer line to Portugal and this is a great opportunity to show the world the quality and breadth of production ability [here],” said Bastian.
