There’s a science to pulling off a great party. You can get the right crowd (read: a mix of designers, fashion girls and a scattering of paid celebs); the right music (the latest Beyoncé); the right bar (Champagne aplenty), but it’s that kinetic, intangible quality that makes a party a can’t-miss.
Admittedly, the fashion industry can be a tough crowd we’ve seen it all (though, there were audible gasps when Alexander Wang’s parkourers repelled from the ceiling at his H&M launch). While 2014 didn’t see many big bashes, the good ones were good.
From the star-studded Golden Globes after parties in January, to Miley Cyrus’ Miami takeover at Basel (a performance laced with marijuana, a tinsel wig and metallic pasties will do that), this year saw parties that even blew the most jaded away.
