It may have felt like -7 degrees outside on West Fourteenth Street I’m not speaking in hyperbole, that’s actually what my iPhone weather app said.
It may have felt like -7 degrees outside on West Fourteenth Street (I’m not speaking in hyperbole, that’s actually what my iPhone weather app said), but inside Diane von Furstenberg’s studio at her post-show dinner, it was all warmth and spring cheer with tables dressed in fuchsia linens and bright-eyed anemones. For a day that was dubbed the coldest in two decades, it was interesting to see how the fashion flock dressed for the occasion.
Wendi Murdoch paired her suede over-the-knee boots with a shearling Kelly bag lest the contents of her purse get chilly. Meanwhile Chelsea Leyland braved the hypothermia-inducing weather barelegged! It girls-on-the-verge Talita von Furstenberg and Sofia Richie flitted about with long straight locks bobbing on top of fur collars.
In keeping with her new collection’s chinoiserie-inspired sensibility the dinner was catered by Indochine, which seemed only fitting considering the restaurant long-served as the location of her post-show dinner. Why bring Mohammed to the mountain when you can bring the mountain to Mohammed?
