Milan Fashion Week 2020 came to an end. Models are wearing archive pieces from Armani’s couture spring privé collections from 2009 and 2019, which were inspired by China; this was a press release of sympathy and unity
The Armani show went on online — and through the live-stream, models might be seen walking around a reflecting pool with flowers and hanging vines conjuring a ghostly nocturnal garden. On the runway, romance ruled with softened military silhouettes, flashes of pink, a lot of velvet and camouflage floral patterns.
Giorgio Armani rendered maxi coats in soft black or blue velvet and reinterpreted camo as an abstract pink and grey or pink and blue petal pattern on silk maxi skirts and trousers, and a minimum of one matched set resembling a sort of femme paratrooper uniform.
On the topic of softness, a hot pink, zip-front “fur” jacket over a pale grey balloon skirt looked luxe for faux, and pink satin pants peeking out from an exquisite black velvet robe coat made for a fun touch.
