Designer Andreas Melbostad has been confirmed as the new creative director of Diesel Black Gold. The appointment comes following the recent announcement that Sophia Kokosalaki is to leave the brand after three years.
Norwegian-born Melbostad is currently a consultant designer at Roberto Cavalli and was formerly creative director at Phi. He has also previously worked at Yves Saint Laurent, Calvin Klein and Nina Ricci.
Melbostad is set to take up his new role in October. Kokosalaki’s final collection for the brand will be shown during the upcoming New York Fashion Week in September.
